Will The Terminator be back?

When he’s not verbally terminating the POTUS, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been dominating the movie news this week on his promotional tour for death in the family drama Aftermath. As reported on HeyUGuys, the former Governor touched on everything from the Legend of Conan now being nothing more than a myth and deeming a Stallone-free Expendables extraneous.

Arnie also turned down a reprisal of Dutch in The Predator, written and directed by his 1987 Predator co-star Shane “Jeez you’ve got a big pussy” Black. Explaining why he shot the role down, he told Yahoo! that he wasn’t interested, “Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that.” He is the Party pooper.

However, the law of diminishing returns resulted in less and less excitement for the T-101’s repeated resurrection in the Terminator franchise, to the point that Paramount reached their own judgement day and pulled the plug. So much for easy money. Speaking to Fandango, Schwarzenegger said “…the Terminator franchise is never finished. And remember that after 2018, James Cameron is getting it back, and then it will continue on!”

Again, speaking to Fandango, Arnie also said that he’d consider making a return to Gotham, to take on the Dark Knight. Although his puns were the bane (ahem) of Schumacher’s Batman and Robin, at least it would guarantee that it would lighten the mood of the DCEU.

Which beloved franchise are you most eager to see the Austrian Oak return to? Let me know and let off some steam.

Gosh… so many classic movies to choose from. I’d totally love to see a him play a bigger, more focal role in the Expendables franchise. I think the other franchises have either run their course, or are artistically inferior when compared with the allure of the classics.
